Time to tour your favorite prospective properties with your Apartment Locator!

It’s an exciting, fun experience. This is the best time to see whether or not a property would be a good fit for you. During a property tour, your Apartment Finder will escort you to the apartment complex.  The leasing agent at the property may have a unit available for prospective residents to view. This is a great example of what your apartment may look like on the inside. It is also common to explore the amenities including the fitness center, swimming pool, and business center.  The leasing agent may review rental criteria and property rules as well. Use the time with your Apartment Finder and on-site leasing agent wisely! Make sure you use this opportunity to learn as much about the apartment complex as possible. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! It is important to gain as much information as possible about your potential property before entering into a rental agreement.

Here are some good questions to ask while touring the property:

  1. What are my options for rent payment? Is there an online payment portal, or is a physical check/money order required?
  2.  What is your pet policy? Is there a pet addendum to sign upon addition of a pet?
  3. What are the contracted utility companies for water, electricity, cable/internet, etc? Are the utilities allocated or sub-metered?
  4. Do you require Renter’s Insurance? What is the minimum policy coverage required?

Your Apartment Finder is also a great resource for answering these questions! Apartment Finders know the right questions to ask, and the important information to know.
